What it is
A fantasy kingdom overrun by monsters, and five heroes crossing it. Each round you secretly program your six moves, and then everyone executes them together: everyone’s move one first, then move two, and so on.

How it plays
Whoever gets to the monster first claims it, and whoever passes through a turn later finds nothing left: you plan by watching where everyone else is. In the end, though, being strong at everything doesn’t help. Reputation, gold and influence get counted one at a time, and each time whoever’s last gets eliminated.

The nugget
Ninety minutes, three to five players, language-independent. It was designed by @regis_bonnessee, the same person who founded Libellud. The box says Asterion Press, which became @asmodee_it in 2015.
At our table
Seven games on our table, and every time I reach the monster one turn after someone else.

What’s your favorite programming game?
The ones where you plan everything ahead of time and then watch the disaster unfold without being able to do a thing about it.
